About Stride Family Business Alliance
Stride Family Business Alliance — Stride, for short — is a community and advisory platform for multigenerational family businesses, based in the Albany, New York area and serving New York’s Capital Region and beyond. Stride brings families together in trusted peer groups, guides them through a proven process, and helps them honor their legacy while building what comes next.

What Stride does
Stride helps families do the deep work of succession, ownership, governance, and the family relationships that give these enterprises their strength. Members get three things: a confidential community of family business peers; structured learning through monthly peer-group sessions and expert-led topics; and, for families who want it, one-on-one advisory through the LEP process — ownership, governance, succession, estate, philanthropy, and strategy.
Who Stride is for
Stride is for the people who carry a family enterprise across generations: senior-generation owners and founders (the Steward Generation), next-generation leaders (Rising Gen), couples and family members who work together, and the non-family executives and board members who help run family companies. Members include manufacturers, distributors, retailers, contractors, hospitality and real estate families, and professional services firms across the Capital Region.
What members get
- Peer groups. The Steward Generation Peer Group for senior-generation owners and the Rising Gen (Next Generation) Peer Group for rising leaders, plus affinity forums for couples, women in family business, and non-family executives.
- Monthly peer-group learning sessions, in person and remote, on member-driven topics with subject matter experts.
- The annual Family Enterprise Retreat — three days away with other family enterprises. The 2026 retreat was held September 8–10 at The Prospect Berkshires in Egremont, Massachusetts.
- A confidential, year-round digital community and the monthly Insights newsletter.
- For STRIDE Family members: monthly 1:1 advisory sessions with founder Jason Packer, the full LEP process, and access to LEP Hub for documents, meetings, and training.
- Free tools such as the Succession Plan Health Test.
Our approach
At Stride, we believe in the lasting promise of family businesses. Our work brings together the practical and the personal, helping families align on succession, ownership, and shared values so the business and the family can grow together. It is grounded in family systems thinking, and it pairs operational rigor with a genuine understanding of how families thrive. We help families move forward together, with clarity and confidence, across generations.
